Places
The marine environment of the Pacific North Coast teems with life and offers enless adventure and opportunity. Few of the world’s oceans have the abundance and diversity of life found in these waters. B.C.'s northern marine ecosystem is a priceless biological treasure and all Canadians are responsible for its protection and ensuring its living legacy. Smart planning for the Pacific North Coast Integrated Management Area (PNCIMA) is essential.
Among the many amazing places along the Pacific North Coast are the biologically and culturally rich islands of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, the spectacular seabird colonies of the Scott Islands, Robson Bight Ecological Reserve (world renowned for its orca populations) and irreplaceable Glass Sponge reefs.
