Coastal Communities
There are at least 25 communities along the North Pacific Coast, all with rich marine heritages.
Living in these communities means living with the ocean. It means being aware of how the ocean is impacted by activities and being involved in how the ocean is managed. Many of the residents of these communities have an intimate understanding of the ocean close to where they live. Their input is vital to the creation of a strong plan for North Pacific Coast.
In addition to these coastal communities and the First Nations settlements, there are a wide variety of coastal facilities scattered along the coast such as marinas, lodges and wharfs. To see the locations of these facilities in B.C. waters, visit the Marinas and Coastal Facilities page of the Marine Atlas of Pacific Canada.
