There are at least 25 communities in Pncima, all with rich marine heritages. These communities include Campbell River, Port McNeill, Port Hardy, Alert Bay, Sointula, Rivers Inlet, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Prince Rupert, Queen Charlotte City and many more.
Living in these communities means living with the ocean. It means being aware of how the ocean is impacted by activities and being involved in how the ocean is managed. Many of the residents of these communities have intimate knowledge of the ocean close to where they live. Input from these people is crucial to the Pncima plan.
